Effectiveness: Do not try to join all the possible networks, as you will not have the time to maintain all of them. Likewise, do not join all the groups that you come across within the networks, either. Choose only a few groups that suit good networking tips your interests.
Walking into stores and communicating with staff if you are hoping to make B2B connections is an option. Greeted with a handshake and a warm hello, to provide the staff with useful and relevant information that they would be interested in. There is no point really to go into a bakery and try and sell them shoes or to stock products as the products and business need to connect.
Go the Extra Mile When Doing Your Research. Don’t just look at the general business behind the person you are negotiating with. If you belong to local networking groups, reach out to anyone who may have had dealings with the other person to find out his negotiating style. You’ll want to find out if you need to hold out on a few key points to make the other person think you are giving in on some things. Find out if the person is a bottom-line kind of person; that is, a person who is very straightforward in telling you what s/he wants.
Get Involved. Community Networking will get you involved in your community and that can mean a great deal to you personally and professionally. I care deeply about clean water and preserving Maine’s environment. I get involved in projects that support my desire for these initiatives. Keep in mind that my business is a Business-to-Business model and your business is a Business-to-Consumer model, so all of your connections are potential customers!

People remember even after the commercial is over. That’s called branding. Companies pay big bucks to advertising agencies to come up with these lasting slogans. Consider doing the exact same thing on your business card. This is your insurance people remember you, after you meet. Don’t just put Hortence Smiley, Accountant on your business card. Add something like “Financial Services With Integrity”. A slogan makes all the difference between getting hired or not, because people will remember you long after a meeting.
