For some reason, people have lost their patience and are acting quite desperate when it comes to raising capital in 2011. I feel that the current stock market and Bernie Madoff ARE the culprit behind this. With a DOW over 12000 (for no real reason), it is fooling society into thinking bank lending, investments, and real estate are stable again.

If you were to examine the analytics on a video where a guy talked about himself and his own experiences for thirty seconds, and then you saw the stats on another video where a guy made the experiences personal for the video, you’d likely see a better conversion rate on the second guy’s video. That’s because web surfers are selfish. That’s not a bad statement. It’s not saying anything bad about anyone. But it’s a true statement and it’s one that you have to keep in mind when using video marketing.

How does a professional speaker develop a speech? They have three basic parts that they work on in a prepared presentation: structure, content and delivery. It is important that you develop success habits now. It isn’t to late or to early, but develop them now because they mean ongoing success for the life of your business. What part of your business do you want to be successful at?

Look out for others first. Effective networking takes time. You can’t go into it with the expectation that it will bring quick results. The trick is maintain what some networking groups call a ‘givers gain’ mentality. Always be looking out for opportunities to help others and eventually this ‘positive energy’ will come back to you. Sounds a bit corny, but it works.
