There are hundreds – indeed thousands – of jobs advertised on the internet every day. But searching online should not be your only strategy for job hunting. Don’t discount the potential of networking.
Don’t Keep Your Emotions in Check. Most people think they have to do the poker face during a negotiation so as to not show all the cards. On the surface, that sounds like a good tactic. Poker players avoid tells to keep the advantage over their opponent. Well, the opposite is just as true. A show of emotion at key points, especially wherein money is concerned serves a purpose, too. Even if the person knows that such tactics will be used, human nature dictates that if someone has distress in his voice, we will feel a bit uncomfortable. That bit of distress or unease will give you a negotiating advantage.
That is another key right there, know your product. You can be selling or working with the greatest product in the world but if you can’t tell a person about it intelligently you just killed that product and any hope software defined networking that you had from making a sale.
An automobile is another place where you can advertise your website by placing a detachable magnetic sign on the doors. In traffic or just parked, your business name and web address will be seen by more people.
If a colleague is helping you with introductions or assistance, make sure you are reciprocating. If there is nothing that you can do at this time be sure importance of networking to tell others of this good deed.
In order to find new clients, you want to meet lots of new people! That’s where networking comes into play. Do a search online to find the networking groups in your area and look for BNI which is also a referral group. Don’t forget about associations as well, which can be a rich source for potential clients. There are also philanthropic groups such as the Lions Club and Rotary Club that work together to help the community or chosen charities.
2- Build the Know- Like-Trust Factor- Building relationships is more important than collecting massive leads. Think quality versus quantity. Add people to your list who have given you permission. Doing so without permission breaks trust. Connect deeper finding common ground, learning from each other, versus on the surface discussion about the weather.
Look for future job fairs or events in your community by calling the local Chamber of Commerce. A booth supplied with exceptional materials is a perfect setup to advertise. Join or visit all the local Chamber of Commerce locations in your area. They hold monthly events and mixers.
From a content point of view, consider what it is that you want to get across, what is that unique point? Think also about who it is that you are trying to get in touch with, remember that you’re not selling to your audience, you are trying to get them to understand your products and services so that they can recommend them to others and refer those potential clients back to you.
The only person that can make your business a success is you. You have to put in the time and the effort. That time and effort is ongoing. Leave no leaf unturned. Try as many things as you can to improve your business. Remember that what worked for your co-worker won’t necessarily work for you.
