I have been in online marketing for almost ten years and have had several successful businesses and a couple not so successful businesses. From a content point of view, consider what it is that you want to get across, what is that unique point? Think also about who it is that you are trying to get in touch with, remember that you’re not selling to your audience, you are trying to get them to understand your products and services so that they can recommend them to others and refer those potential clients back to you.
Look out for others first. Effective networking takes time. You can’t go into it with the expectation that it will bring quick results. The trick is maintain what some networking groups call a ‘givers gain’ mentality. Always be looking out for opportunities to help others and eventually this ‘positive energy’ will come back to you. Sounds a bit corny, but it works.
Consistency It is necessary to be consistent through the different networks by adding the same information and profile software defined networking picture when using similar IDs.
For the actual presentation, the fact that you have timed it and run through it will have not done any harm. No doubts you’re still going to be nervous and all the symptoms above will still be there but here’s a great tip for how to keep it in control.
Surround yourself with optimistic, supportive people. Misery may love company, but this is not the time to commiserate. You need to remain focused, positive, and inspired.
After you have collected at least five cards of people you are interested in working with, go back to your office and load their contact information into your data base. Send them a letter immediately expressing your delight in meeting them and letting them know you will call them for an exploratory meeting.
